Hello 900SETinOr, here is some info I pulled from another poster regarding driver side mirror. the poster did not specifically adress our defrost issue, but maybe the posters solution may help wiht our defrost issue. I have not tried to fix the defrost issue with my mirror yet, so not sure if this will work. Let us know if it helps

After a while, my mirror switch stopped working right, too. Sometimes I'd have to move the mirror up before I could move it down. If you take it apart, you'll see that it's a very strange switch. There are three cone-shaped contacts that make contact with a metal plate. Everything sits in grease so the cones don't touch the plate until you push on the switch. The grease in my car's switch had started to get really goopy and turn green. I cleaned off all of the old grease, cleaned the contacts, and repacked it all with Sil-Glyde silicone grease, and it's worked perfectly ever since.
