I have a 1997 Saab 900S. About a year and a half ago I went out to start my car and it was dead. I had to get a new battery and then all seemed fine except the automatic locks would not work and there for the alarm would not engage. I just left well enough alone because I didn't have the money to get it fixed and locked and unlocked the doors/trunk manually. A couple weeks ago I unlocked the door with the key and the alarm starts going off. I tried to turn it off with the the automatic button on my key chain but it would not stop. I tried to start the car with the key and had no luck. I have no idea how after 1 1/2 years the alarm has just engaged itself and I have no way to turn it off so the car is now undrivable because it won't start with the alarm engaged. The green light on my key chain does flash when I hit it and I have tried pressing the button 5 times consecutively while it is pointed at the car but it does nothing. Has anyone had this type of problem? My boyfriend is pretty mechanical but he is not sure how to disconnect the alarm. Can anyone help?
