Labor was 3-4h (too late here to go look for the receipt)
I asked to have the pump bench-tested, that was 1/2 hour. The motor I needed is $120 on saabsite.com, they paid more than that to get it the same day, and charged me $240. I could have ordered it myself and waited 1-2 days to get it (shrug). It does not just come out of the pump w/o some work, that's why other shops don't want to do it.
The aftermarket straps were $20 each, and someone had to go pick them up... time. The T-shape end of the old ones had to be cut off and used to fit the new ones... more time. The right-angle check valve has to be fitted carefully, and to avoid breaking the ends of the fuel lines they have to be heated to make them less brittle... time again, and it takes some work to install that fuel filter, even if they are quicker than I am. So does refitting the heatshield when the holes are so bit the washers just fall through them.
I would have spent a day on this, even IF I knew how to do the gas tank. Then waiting 1-2 days for parts, not knowing for sure I could fix it? ... NOT!
