I see your point. The local Saab dealer, the ex-Saab dealer, and the local top-notch indie are all in the $60-70/hr. range. The time might be 6 hrs. instead of 5, I'm trying to remember work from 60k miles ago, but those labor costs make that one hour a moot point. The ex-Saab dealer here still has it's Saab master tech (now doing subies) and let's me bring my own parts. That's a deal I can't pass up!
There are four trans seals: input shaft, shift rod and two output shaft o-ring seals. Obviously it's easiest to replace all of them with the trans. out, but the input shaft seal must be done that way.
