I am the third and final owner of the car. The car had all sorts of huge calamities taken care of under warranty, including the water pumps, head gasket and my favorite: "Recall 705 performed". To this day I have no idea what on earth was that recall. My car will turn 100 in a day or two!! :) I will celebrate his old age with tire rotations, and engine and transmission oil changes.

As for the coolant, I too have a minor amount of coolant lost (maybe 100 mls every month to month and a half). Do not get me started in the small seeps from the PS hoses! :)

Regarding the MT oil, I just put Saab MTF0063 fluid into the new tranny, and it was very dark and opaque out of the bottle!! So I think that is just the natural color. The transmission that is on the car now has gone through a lot of oil changes while out of the car, so the stuff that was in there was not informative. The stuff that was in the transmission that I replaced, was a light amber color, similar to Mobil1 0W40!! That oil was probably a month old. Again, the stuff I just put it, which was Saab brand and straight out of the bottle is dark in color, like used motor oil!

The dripping oil out of the shaft takes place on the driver side but not on the passenger side. That worries me that I perhaps damaged the new seal. I am hoping it will fix itself miraculously.

Thanks for the input PM, always appreciated!
