battery cable end question, please help...

My battery cable is corroded to garbage. :o\

I finally got around to requesting custombatterycables.com to make one. Long story short, he has come back with a few questions after request and sending eEuroparts picture. I'm at work, so I don't have access to car, Haynes, WIS, etc. So if anyone can help answer the following question with regards to the cable...

I think I can build the cable but I have one question. It looks like there is some sort of clamp near the starter end. I circled it on the picture. I'm not sure what that is from the picture. Since I don't know what it is I can't say for sure I can duplicate it...

I'd suggest a few changes... I'd put some heat shrink where the wire goes into the battery clamp. The picture looks like exposed copper. That's just asking for corrosion there.
