I saw this debate as well. Cannot attest to the truth of the post, but, more interestingly, the BMW'ers responded in a childish and irrational manner. Unfortunately, the BMW'ers spent more time making personal attacks than providing any real evidence of their opinion of the superiority of their car (as if this is something to get so upset about. I suggest you should enjoy what you like, and accept other people will have their preferences.)
Anyway, unfortunately, it seems that whether one car is 'superior' to the other, the BMW'ers are very defensive and unable to accept that the market offers alternatives to BMW that are competitive (at substantially less cost.) The BMW'ers focus on personal attacks that result in no useful discourse and reinforce the impression that BMW owners may irresponsible and arrogant.
