Hi TG, thanks for the feedback,
About my question regarding " pushing too hard on the roof, I meant the metal roof itself, not the glass sunroof. I only pushed hard enough to remove the Zymol. I just got scared because the edge of the roof moved a bit in relation to the sunroof. Is that normal? On other cars I have waxed without sunroofs, the roof did flex a bit.
I did not apply wax in the area where the sunroof would rub. But, After I removed the wax, there was dust all over the sunroof. Now, if I opened the sunroof at this point(I can't remember if I did), wouldn't the dust get in there? I mean, I am sure you know that the dust from Zymol gets everywhere.
wouldn't that be the same as explicitly putting wax in there?
"Then you temporarily may have lost the friction on the surface that keeps the roof quiet."
-So, you are saying that if wax got on the felt or surrounding metal, there would be a loss of friction, thus allowing the roof to move a bit more? That would explain it making noise over bumps, but does this have anything to do with it making more noise when I open and close it? Also, if this is the case, it will eventually go away, right?
Thanks, TG
Alex Athanasiou
