No offense to Bill, but many on this board still believe in the value of properly breaking in a vehicle to extend engine life. The best method (others may be able to elaborate) is to keep the RPM's below the factory recommended 5K and to try to drive under conditions which will allow for variations in RPM's (i.e. most people warn against long trips where you're stuck at 3K RPM's the whole time). Normal everyday driving is the best way to go.
From the manual . .
"piston, bores, and bearings need time to obtain uniform, wear-resistant surfaces. If a new engine is driven too hard, the gradual process of bedding-in will not be possible and the life of the engine will be shortened. During the first 1,200 miles do not exceed 5,000 RPM. In addition, refrain from driving the car at full throttle, other than for brief instances, during the first 1,800 miles."
HTH,
