Car A: Swedish Dynamics springs with Koni dampers. Very nice, this is the daily driver in Detroit. Not too stiff (although from my calculations the springs are significantly stiffer than stock), of course I live and work in the suburbs so I don't hit the really nasty potholes.
Car B: Eibach pro-kit springs with Bilstein dampers (which I think are the supplier for the Eibach dampers, but I am not sure) and 17" wheels. I haven't had the car long enough to get a feel for the car's limits but I would say that the ride is nice on smooth roads. The ride is less than comfortable on anything other than smooth roads but the vehicle control is still there. Since I didn't put all the stuff on I cann't speak to which suspension items provided the biggest change, bit based on Car A I think the wheels provide the biggest change in comfort vs. pefromance.
