Leasing Question Posted by Paul [Email] |
Please take a quick look at the following text taking note of the wording that is highlighted in particular LEASE END VALUE of CAD15,286
*Starting MSRP of a 2001 Saab 9-3 5-door 1SA is $34,740. Lease of $420/month for 36 months based on 60,000 km ($0.12 per excess km) and a 2.9% lease rate with a downpayment of $6,250 plus a refundable $500 security deposit. LEASE END VALUE $15,286. Total obligation $21,347. License, insurance and taxes are extra. Saab's 9-3 lease and finance rates of 2.9% and 0.9% respectively apply to qualified retail customers only. Example: $10,000 at 0.9% APR, the monthly payment is $171 for 60 months. Cost of borrowing $230. Offers do not apply to convertible models. Retailer may sell or lease for less. Rates subject to change without notice. See Retailer for further conditions and details. **One year OnStar Premium service agreement included on 2001 Saab vehicles. Call 1-800-ONSTAR-7 for system limitations and details.
AM I TO UNDERSTAND THAT THIS CAR WILL ONLY BE WORTH JUST OVER CAD$15000 AFTER THREE YEARS! I BELIEVE THAT THIS LEASE IS A HUGE SCAM AS I HAVE YET TO FIND A THREE YR OLD SAAB FOR SALE HERE IN CANADA THAT COSTS ANYTHING LESS THAN CAD24000, WHICH MEANS THAT SAAB IS OVERCHARGING BY CAD9000 IN THE HOPE THE LEASEE WILL RETURN THE CAR SO THEY CAN SELL THE CAR TO SOMEONE ELSE AND POCKET CAD$9000.
CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN THIS APPARENT SCAM TO ME!!!
