I was thinking about throwing one of these onto the '01 9-3 SE I recently bought right out of the chute... without even checking out a vehicle that already had one. I figured, hey, 7 more ponies... cool sound... its a no brainer! Well, I'm glad I did take the time to test drive one before I took the plunge. My first impression was that I liked it. It definately does have a nice throaty sound, and hums real nice when you get on it. As for performance, Its pretty hard to notice a 7 horsepower difference, so I can't say I saw a marked performance boost. The more I thought about it though, I started asking myself if I really wanted to deal with the increased interior sound level day in and day out... on long trips... with the wife and kids in the car... when I was trying to listen to music. Did I really want to hear that confounded gurgling noise on every downshift. I decided that I didn't.
