SID Display

I sent this message to the SAAB Customer Relations:
I had my car in yesterday(to Jim Ellis Saab) to repair a
problem with the SID display. It has been intermittently losing lines.
I was told that since the dealer could not recreate the intermittent
problem, that they would not correct the display. That in fact, if they
did and the home office tested the part and could not find the problem,
that they would be charged back for the part and the cost was too great
for them to take just my word on it. I was told to bring the car in
when the problem was occurring and then they could fix it. Since it is
intermittent, I can not just head to the dealer at whatever time it
might occur and even then how would the home office be able to test the
part to recreate the problem, anyway.
I would like to get this problem resolved. Pleas contact me if you need
more information.
Anyone else with this kind of problem. I've heard from Customer Assistance and have spoken to 2 people so far and they are telling me the same thing the dealer said. I'm waiting for the next supervisor up the list to call me back.
Any suggestions on how to handle this?
