I wrote on here that my AC wasn't working and didn't get a response. Then I took it to the dealer (128 near Boston) and they said that a hose had touched a hot part of th engine and melted a hole in it and drained all the coolant. they found this due to using a dye in the system. they then ordered a new hose and then put it and a new valve back on and flushed the system and refilled it.
fantastic.
so I got it home and it sort of worked that day, but it smelled heavily of wet dog. then the next day the smell was worse and the AC worked less well. Now today, the AC doesn't work at all again (blowing hot air) and it smells a whole lot like wet dog. I don't own a dog.
And then the day after I got it back from the dealer I got a "fill coolant fluid" error message.
and then I happened to notice that I have green dye all over the right front side of my car (in the wheel well) and after openeing the hood I saw it was on a lot of stuff and even got down in the lights. don't know if that was dye related to what they used to find the AC leak, or if that is Antifreeze (it didn't smell like anitfreeze to me, and it just looked like paintball paint - neon green I presume, it looks a little darker against my dark blue car).
Ugh.
So now I'm going to Charles River Saab where they are rude and uncaring, but hopefully will fix it, but they are so busy they can't get to it until next friday morning.
remind me again when my '00 SE would need to go to the dealer this often? I'm not very happy about Saab right now. I love the car, but if I have to bring it to a dealer multiple times every week, that isn't cool. if this was 8-10 years old, then yes, that is fine. but it is a '00 car, got it in Feb of '00 and it only has 16K miles on it.
pisses me off. next car is likely going to be a BMW unfortunately. I hate their ergonomics, but the people I know that own them have no problems with them.
