Our 9-3SE is more fun. We make sure to take the Saturn L on longer trips because it's more comfortable and it has more room. It's built off the same Opel as the 9-5 so the behavior and dimensions are similar. Just note that the 9-5 is a bit more comfy than the Saturn L.
So, when we want to drive in a really good looking car that is fun, we'll take the 9-3. If it's a longer trip, it's the Saturn.
Now that I'm a Dad, I'd probably trade the 9-3 for the 9-5. It's all subjective here. It would definitely be an Aero though. The extra weight of the 9-5 really calls for the extra power.
