Yup.
2004 Malibu, 2002 Vectra, 2005 Grand Am, 2005 L Series, 2003 9-3. A possible stretched version for the new Omega may be in the works as well, but according to Automotive News yesterday Opel may want to kill that vehicle.
Again, my point here is not that platform sharing by itself is a fatally flawed concept. Other companies seem to do it well. My concerns center on GM's widely documented (and widely criticized, not just by me) attempts to create brand images for vehicles that have nothing to do with performance, value, and quality, and thereby cutting corners or ignoring technological innovation. The brand managers from consumer products companies don't bring vehicle focus, they bring "brand equity" focus and other such nonsense.
Perhaps I'm overly pessimistic, but quick, name one GM product (aside from trucks/SUVs) that's a market leader in it's segment now. Midsize? Luxury? Small cars? Vans? Sports cars (goodbye Camaro/Firebird)? Crossover? The company that put Olds out of business and seems to be on the verge of running Cadillac into the ground can certainly do the same with Saab.
