Windscreen for convertible... Worth it?? + BOOST PROBLEM

Hi!
I just bought a '99 9-3 SE convertible last week, it's a nice car! One thing though, as soon as it gets under 68 outside, travel over 60 mph becomes quite frisky... I had the 4 windows up and the heater at work, and it's mid summer! How am I supposed to deal with this situation in the fall? (I live in Montréal, Canada)
I got to thinking about the windscreen, but the over 400$ US price made my
jaw drop... How usefull is this device? Will it make my top down days last a lot longer? Is there anywhere I can get it for less? Are there substitutes? What are your opinions and experiences with windscreens?
One more thing... I bought the car knowing it wasn't boosting properly (it won't go much past the middle of yellow, not anywhere near the start of red/end of yellow). I figured it was the spark plugs and had them chaged. The car is still on warranty, so I'm not worried that it isn't boosting properly yet, but do you have an idea what is responsible for this lackluster performance? The dealers around here usually don't have a clue about how these cars work :-( I'm using 92 octane... In my previous Saabs, changing the plugs would always seem to do the trick...
Thanks for your help!
Rick
