Winter tires...

I just bought some of the advertised 9-5 Aero rims for my 9-3SE. I am going to keep the old 16 inchers around to slap some snow tires on this coming winter. Living in metro Boston, winter is often hit or miss. When it does hit, however, it can be bad. Last year I was stuck with the horrific Pilot MXM's on there for the winter, thankfully we only had a few storms that I pretty much stayed in for or drove my mom's Grand Cherokee. I would like good winter traction, but not something like Blizzaks that will completely kill my dry roadholding capabilities, because lets face it, most of the time the road is clear and dry. Dunlop Winter Sport M2's have gotten good reviews on Tirerack. Pirelli Asymmetricos also got decent ratings. Anybody have any suggestions? Also, with my new 17 inch Aero rims I was considering Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's, which have gotten good reviews. I was thinking of running 225/45/17s up front to minimize potential curb scraping of my new rims, any opinions? As soon as I can scrape together the dough I will also be getting a Nordic roadability kit and Koni adjustables, and I guess in the meantime I will just have to avoid potholes to keep scraping to a minimum.
