Dan, I don't which part of the country you live in....here in the St. Louis, MO area a 30,000 mile (MAJOR SERVICE) would be over 800.00 at the dealer's service center!!!! That makes your 475.000 sound like a bargain.

Fortunately, there is a wonderful Saab/Volvo Master Tech in our area who does all the work on our cars, he charges about half of what the dealer does and all his work is Saab certified...just like the dealer.

It seems to me that when there are few Saab dealerships in an area, we have 2 in the St. Louis area, they charge ALOT more for service compared to an area where there are more dealerships who are in competition for your business hence, they charge less for service...IMHO.

Why don't you do a bit of investigative work and try and find a master tech in your area who has their own shop, I'm sure he, or she :-) , would charge ALOT less than your dealer...Good Luck!
