Are the temperatures getting cooler where you are? Last year, the first with RFG-II fuels, we started to get reports of starting problems around this time of year. Problems were attributed to deposits from the new fuels, and the lower volatiltiy of the summer grade fuels. Spark plug condition could certainly aggrevate these problems.
Folks seemed to get good improvements after a dose of Techron Concentrate, which supports the deposit conjecture. Fouled spray patterns can cause problems. In some situations it was found that cleaning the throttle body helped with starting and idle, but that is not a common issue. If you have never cleaned the TB it might be worth while if the Techron does not work alone.
Let the ignition dwell at on for a few seconds before cranking the engine. Perhaps the fuel pressure is not up and that is contributing to slow starts.
I think that the low volatility fuels do not have enough solvent strength to counteract the tendancy to form deposits. So through the summer season the deposits are slowly building up. Cooler weather simply makes the poor injector spray patterns harder to ignite as the charge air is cooler.
As always, inspect the plugs.
