Tell her that you will roll your own socks next time she does the laundry if she will do this one little job for you. Offer to fold your shorts too if she will replace the exhaust system when the time comes. Go slowly, and pretty soon you will have her begging to rebuild the X-mission!
I got to my radiator drain plug over the top, but later realized that it is much more accessible from below. Hate to admit it, but I also replaced my heater core hoses from the top (don't even think about doing it that way). Later I learned the job should be done from under the car where you can even see those hose connectors. Sometimes I forget there is a bottom side to a Saab.
Reminds me of something Gracho Marx once said: "Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend; but inside of a dog it is much to dark to read!"
Top side, bottom side. Outside, inside. Still with me?
