Should we be insulted? IMHO, the only real similarity is both cars are four door hatchbacks.
TO ME THEY DONT LOOK ALIKE AT ALL and I seriously doubt that ANYONE will want an Elantra GT because it supposedly looks like a 9-3, they will buy the Elantra because it is cheap to buy, PERIOD!
There are a lot of four door hatchbacks, especially in Europe, but they do not a Saab make! The Hyundai will be a rusting bucket of bolts in seven years time when the 9-3 will be just nicely run-in. From what I have been reading here the new 9-3 will look nothing like the current 9-3 - whether that is a good or bad thing remains to be seen - in that it will be introduced as a sedan only initially. While I must admit the current 9-3 does look what I think a Saab should look like but we have to realise it isnt selling cars so if the new 9-3 drives like a Saab and has a lot of Saab styling cues then I really dont think we need to worry. Remember North Americans are very conservative when it comes to car buying!
