Marco,

Congratulations! I got my steel gray with gray leather interior 9-3SE at the end of June. I opted for the premium package, automatic trans, sliding center armrest, and CD changer in the trunk with CD player in the dash.

I agree that the interior plastic around the console is of very poor quality. You can actually mark it with just your fingernail. Not too bright for an area where driver's will be putting their hands and fingers.

The carpet and matts are also lacking. The carpet resembles felt, though I hope that it is stronger than that as I plan to keep the car for a decade or more. The matts seem very thin. I do like the fact that they have small circular openings which lock them in place.

Upon delivery, check the paint on your car carefully. Mine arrived with several small paint defects which Saab has yet to correct. They are minor and mostly cosmetic. However, should not be on a new car these days.

Mechanically the car has been great. I am up to 3,000 miles. The mileage has started to go up as stated in the manual. The brakes squeek when I have it in reverse. The dealer said that they will take a look at that.

Best advice is READ YOUR MANUAL. It has a lot of good information and answered many of my questions.

I hope you enjoy your car as much as I enjoy mine. It has really grown on me over the past few months.

Best wishes.
