I have an auto after driving manuals all my life. I just got sick and tired of being in stop and go traffic and shifting all the time. I guess it depends on where you live and where you drive. The Saab automatics are very reliable these days and I take comfort in the fact that I won't wear out a clutch. The low end power is not overwhelming, but then again it IS a 4-cyl turbo, which is better in the "once you're going" speeds anyhow. Personally, if I wanted a Saab 9-3 that was really fun to drive, I would probably splurge for the Viggen and know that I got what I wanted. But for me, having fun driving has only cost me more money and grief. I guess I have become prematurely coservative. But when I want to let loose, there's always Sport mode!!! -JerryC
