2001 93 convertible - advice on purchase

I just found this site - I might be joining the ranks of Saab owners - any advice on my situation? We're looking at a 2001 93 convertible - we don't need a car but the idea of getting a Saab convertible at a good price is very tempting! But, we've never spent quite so much money on a car - feel kind of guilty about plopping down so much for a car.
Anyway, assuming I get past the guilt, here's a portion of the offer I made and the response (we actually started paperwork 10/31/01 so I think we can still get the $6000 rebate).
"1. $35,000 price
2. Less $6000 for rebate (applied to price)
3. Add $189 for your documentation fee
4. Net price of $29,189 plus tax of $2079.72
5. No other "hidden" costs"
The response was $32,656, including rebate, plus tax.
I keep thinking of things in my favor such as: the economy is in a downturn and the prospect of other potential buyers is lower; the car has probably been on the lot for quite some time; winter is approaching and it is not the prime time for convertible shoppers (cold winters where I am); I may still get the rebate but new shoppers wouldn't; we could buy a Sebring or Solara convertible for less; and, finally, while we like the car, we are content to not buy at this time.
Any feedback greatly appreciated!!!!
