Richard is correct.
Your starter uses about 80 amps to turn the engine. Your radio uses about 5 and your headlights use 20. The clicking you hear is your starter solenoid. It doesn't have enough current to compress the spring on the starter gear all the way and turn the flywheel so the teeth of the starter gear just click against the flywheel. Thats where the noise comes from.
As for what to do, I'd just jump the car, drive around a little (minimum 15 minutes), and then turn it off near where you can jump it again if you have to. *Immediately* restart the car. If it won't start right away, there are several potential problems.
1. your battery is bad (most likely scenario)
2. you have a small short in the system that is bad enough to kill your battery but not bad enough to pop the fuse. (typical of do-it-yourselfer stereo installations)
3. you have a bad starter/soleniod
If it does start righ up, then you probably did something to kill it in the first place. (left the key on with seat heater on, headlights, stereo, etc, etc.) In this case, I'd leave it overnight where I could jump it again. If it starts right up in the morning, you have no issue.
Luck.
AMT.
