momo "s" shift knob

I just purchased a momo shift knob that fits cars with the reverse lock feature and I want to make sure that it'll fit my car before I tear off the old knob. The momo knob has a big open end at the bottom so the lift up plastic reverse piece will fit in the knob. Then there's a 2nd smaller opening further up inside the shift knob where I slide the shift rod in and lock down the knob with a screw. My biggest problem is that I just don't know what's the diameter of the saab shifter rod? Can anyone help me out? Thanks.
