Early lease term due to accident - my liabilities?

Anybody have experience with this? I'm freaking out. My 2000 Viggen just got into a pretty bad accident. I have 15 months left on the lease with $7700 in payments left. Residual value on lease was approx. $21,600. According to Edmunds, I'm guessing the Insurance may pay only about $20,000 for a 2000 Viggen. Now, on the SAAB leasing papers, the "gap protection" clause has me wondering if I will owe that $7700! Since the clause reads I will still owe any "unpaid fees and taxes and any amounts due because you broke agreements in the lease". Is that what it means!?!
thanks.
