The 9-3 has, in the opinions of most OBJECTIVE people, very bad torque steer and atrocious camber steer. You know what torque steer is. Camber steer is the tendancy of the car to follow "ruts" in pavement or other unevenness. When you hit the throttle on a rutted road, you may experience disastrous results -- a combination of torque steer and camber steer. I almost flipped a 9-3 at 60 mph once attempting a passing maneuver because the road was slightly uneven. I was downshifting and flooring the car, with one hand on the wheel, and the car jerked violently to the left.
If handling is important to you, do not get a 9-3. As for body roll -- yes, the car is softly sprung and tall, so it leans in corners like an old lady in a stiff breeze.
