RPMs linger from 1st to 2nd... I think.

I've noticed when driving my 02 SE (6 weeks old) the RPMs seem to rev up a bit
or at least not drop very quickly when shifting from 1st to 2nd -- from 2nd to 3rd
not so much and 3rd on not at all. To exaggerate, it sounds like someone who
can't drive a stick. I thought it was just due to switching vehicles and not being
use to the clutch, however I drove a new Viggen and the RPMs drop very quickly
in 1st. I got back in the SE and it still happens. Also I found the clutch to be less
stiff in the Viggen. The dealer looked at my car and said it is fine. Perhaps I just
have to get use to it still. Any ideas here?
