You may not have to drive and hour and a half for routine servicing.
My nearest Saab dealer is eight hours away in another province (I really wanted a Saab). However I have a written ageement with the dealer and GM that so long as I keep a good record of regular oil changes and other routine maintenance the warranty will be in force. That regular serving does not even have to be at GM shop. I have everything done at an independent garage.
Unfortunately for this thread, I have never had to put this to the test. The car is two years old and has gone 60,000 km and has never needed anything but oil changes along with the inspections detailed in the owner manual.
Also, the situation may be different in Canada where Saabs are sold exclusively through Saturn dealerships. If I did have warranty work to be done, it would be GM‘s call whether I could go to the local Saturn dealer who does not handle Saabs or would have to make the eight hour drive.
