I have a couple of Saab specialist mechanics at the
Calgary dealership; Pete the Brit and the other Pete, big.
Pete the Brit serviced the old '79 900T and big Pete
is no slouch. Both have the latest GM papers.
As long as there is strength in mechanical, I could give
a hoot about the other stuff.
Parts have not been a problem.
You're right about this - other than mechanical,
the orientation is Saturn, if you get my drift.
There are some exceptions in the sales staff, but
sales guys don't generally like to kick tire with you
unless there's something in it for them. These guys
are truly starting to admire Saab, as they are selling
5s like hotcakes. One of them knows his Saabs at least
as well as I do and maybe better.
The wait-room is another story. Saturn people are mildly
attracted to Saab - in a big brother kind of way. I admire
Saturn and Isuzu people. I find them value-oriented.
