Hello all. I was driving down the road today in my highly customized '00 9-3SE. I've had her lowered and got some nice 18" rims on there (here is a shot - these are the smaller ones, mine were way more expensive and more chromed: http://www.ronalusa.com/wheels-2002/bear.html). She's midnight blue - but I've added a lot of custom touches. I've got a neon ground effects kit that flashes to the beat of my 500watt subwoofers that I hooked up in the back - bazookas rule! I found a good deal on a chroming kit and I did the gas cap cover mirrored - I love seeing my reflection each time I fill up. I'm working on the front left fender all in chrome as well, but that is a slow going process.
I have a "Type R" raised decal mounted right next to my "9-3" decal in the back - I get like 5 extra HP just from that little bad boy. In both rear side windows, I have a pissing calvin - yeah, he's pissing on a Volvo symbol!! HA HAHA! I laid down nearly a grand for a special decal that starts down near my headlights on one side of the car and then sweeps over the hood and windshield and then ends in the back - it says "SAAB" in fake japanese characters - trust me - it looks really sweet and I swear she accelerates faster with it. I've blacked out all my lights, and added a few extra fog lights down low - this helps me see when I'm going real fast.
Anyway, I see this sweet right cruise by me - it was one of those Oldsmobiile station wagons with the fake wood paneling down the side... and I was just like, holy smokes, that is really classy. Then it hit me, I'm a pretty classy guy in a classy ride - how can I apply that to my own livin' large lifestyle? Then it hit me. I recall that GTS Viper - the blue coupe with the white stripes down the center... and I was like - DAMN - I have a blue car...
So basically I was wondering if any of you have any experience with that glue on wood veneer that you can get at hardware stores - I want to put some racing stripes like that on my car. If you don't think it would weather right, then I'm also considering linoleum as well - that comes in an array of colors and is probably more waterproof and wear resistant... but it doesn't really read as classy as the wood grain does.
Anyone have any experience with this or any suggestions? Money is no object, as long as it is under $1000.
