The BPV can make a tooting sound as the boost indicator goes thru the transition to boos from vacuum. A metal piston type BPC valve will get rid of the noise. Why? Don't know for sure. Perhaps the rate of rise of boost is such that the pressure that gets to the BPV via the VAC line is arriving in time. Someone stated once that reversing the orientation of the PBV stopped the noise. You could try that, very easy to do, and less expensive than a piston type BPV.
