93 decreasing performance ??

Just posted a reply to another thread about my problem and wanted to get some more input - I have a 2002 93 SE T (5 speed manual) now with 5500 miles on the clock. Had it from new. When delivered, the guy from the dealer told me that running in wasn't really necessary anymore. Anyhow I gave it a "gentle" 500 miles then let rip, so to speak. I have hit the rev limiter on a couple of occaisions. After the second at around 2000 miles, I have noticed that performance has been dropping off. Throttle response is now really rather saggy. I also get the sharp drop in revs at ticckover reported in some other threads. I'm approaching the first service (6000 miles) and want to get the dealer to do what he needs to do to get the power back for me. Any suggestions ??? I can't beieve that I've worn the engine out in 6000 miles - my last two cars have been driven mercilessly for around 100,000 miles each and were fine. I swear that my Toyata Carina was actually quicker when it went back to the lease company with 125,000 on the clock than when it had 10k on the clock !!!
Please help - right now I'm real dissapointed with the performance !
