Go for it!
I've had mine now for over a year (purchased a 99 9-3 SE) and just love it!
In fact... I borrowed my parents Mercedes SLK, and found the 9-3 more comfortable and I can have my golf clubs in the trunk! I was happy to get back into my saab. I was using their car as I was refinishing the convertible top. Not that it needed it, I was just trying to make it last as long as possible!
As ofr rattles, I was trying to find some today... they started to bother me. I then realized that most of them came from my radar detector and stuff in the golve compartment and door pockets. Once I took care of these rattles, I was surprised how quiet it was and almost completely rattle free... only a small rattle when I hit medium size pot holes (i try to avoid the large ones), but probably wouldn't be noticable to the normal driver.
Good luck in your decision... I love mine!
