Sticky SID buttons, what to do?

Hi All,
I have a problem, I spilled coffee onto the “+” and “-“ buttons on the SID display and SAAB says that is not covered by the warranty. I have a friend that recommended that I use a spray made to clean electronic components. Has any used that before on the SID buttons? Will the spray effect the SID and possibly cause a short? Does anyone have a solution that has worked for them? Thanks in advance for any help you all can provide.
Terry
