Here are my likes:
* Front leather seats are amazing - better than any car I've ever driven before (and I used to rent cars all the time for business travel).
* Steering Wheel audio controls - my Cougar had steering wheel cruise control, and I use the radio a lot more often than the cruise
* Turbo and engine - This car just goes zoom when I hit the gas. I took some kind of noisy Acura Integra Type S (or R, whatever) at a light - I was at least 6 ft in front of his nose when we hit 70mph.
* Handling - I like the way the car handles, although I don't know which is better, my old Cougar or the Saab. I'm probably just not used to the Saab. I commute down some really windy hilly roads in Austin.
* Trunk space - great for a convertible
* Power soft top cover.
* Cosmic Blue is a great color with the charcoal grey leather
* Air conditioning is very strong, great for top-down in 95F heat.
* 4 usable seats for adults.
* Sunglasses holder at the bottom of the console.
* No lock on the gas tank
* S button for Sport mode!
* Key in the center console ignition. You can actually see the key hole.
* Everybody in West Austin seems to have a 3-series, which they either use to cut people off, or to go 5mph below the speed limit.
* Included 3 year maintenance
* Extra 4th year of warranty.
Dislikes:
* Automatic Climate control can be a little strange with the top down. I've had it refuse to put the A/C on.
* 93 Premium gas. Cougar took 87, saved some gas money.
* Arm rest. Why didn't Saab make this standard? I don't think I want the sliding one, it looks weird.
* No wire holding gas tank cap on.
* No in-dash CD changer
* Sport mode can't be set as the default.
* Chirping alarm. I had the dealer disable this before I took posession.
* Weird Saab pricing. It seems like they lose all the car reviews because their prices are up high, even though they rebate 4k or 6k on the 9-3's. I paid an amount closer to a Solara or Sebring (which the Saab stomps all over) than a BMW 325 or Volvo C70. Maybe people walk in, don't know about the incentive, and pay MSRP, and the dealer gets a fat check?
* It would be great if the back seats folded all the way down, to get long, wide, flat things into the trunk. I don't know what's behind the seats in the convertible to block this.
