Loss of turbo boost - 9-3

I bought a new 9-3 2.2 diesel in March (in the UK). My first Saab and I'm very pleased with it (makes me feel like a grown up at 40 after 6 years in MGFs). But...I have a problem with the turbo boost which the dealer cannot replicate (natch) despite their having had one other similar failure.
The problem occurs under rapid (but not excessive) acceleration to motorway (freeway) speeds (70 mph here). After reaching about 60, and over 3000 revs, the turbo just disappears and the engine warning light comes on. This is very disconcerting, especially in heavy traffic, as acceleration vanishes. Turning the engine on and off seems to make the problem go away but this is clearly not a long (or even medium) term solution. Alternatively, I can carry on driving at low speeds without the turbo, but am reluctant do so because acccording to the manual engine warning light issues should be reported to the dealer.
The car is going back to the dealer's next week and, as far as I'm concerned its staying there 'til they've fixed whatever is going wrong.
Has anyone here had any similar experiences or advice on what might be going wrong? I want that turbo neck-snapping headrush back!
