i just leased a 2002 9-3 se hatchback. i really like the car. i considered the vw passat, the 9-3, and the audi a4. in terms of value, the saab wins. most bang for buck.

i really like the car except for the lack of a decent cup holder, armrest being optional, and slightly tight backseats, but these things are all minor.

the one thing i haven't seen complained about is the dead pedal. my left foot doesn't know where to rest while i'm driving. it's a really weird feeling. the dead pedal forces my ankle to flex in a position that becomes uncomfortable after a while. has anyone else noticed this?

i shopped around for the car via internet services and phone calls then going to several deaerships in the northern california area.

my car has a sticker of 32,090 (base + premium + heated seats + automatic transmission). because i leased the car, the net cap cost was $28,100. after shopping around, this seemed like a pretty good deal, and the dealer was really good.

i was worried about the pricing because some people on these boards posted prices as low as 25,000, and i thought i was getting a bum deal. i searched the net and found that there is a $3000 incentive on the 9-3 lease. the dealer then knocked a little bit off the price from there. but i think i made up for everything with all of the vases, mugs, and keychains they gave.

all in all, nothing to complain about at this point except for that dead pedal. let me know your thoughts.
