I put one on my 1997 900, which for the purposes of mounting the antenna, is exactly the same car as your 2002 9-3. It wasn't too hard. I had to take the interior panels off of the C-pillars and pull down the headliner a little bit, then drill a big hole in the roof. The trickiest part was keeping the antenna straight while tightening the nut. You also have to measure where it will go pretty carefully. You have about 2.5" between the back edge of the sunroof tray and the front of the large beam across the back of the roof. To plug up the hole, I bought the little Viggen antenna plug (about $18.00). It's powered through the switched lead on the original power antenna wire, and the signal wire hooks up through a short extension that goes up through the left C-pillar. FM reception is no better than it was before, but AM reception is much better. It does look cool, and now I can start saving up for a Viggen spoiler.
