If it's well under your mileage limit, and you're considering getting a new car, you might want to think twice about turning it in. Have you called Chase to find out what your payoff is? If your payoff is less than you can get on a trade or straight sale, you might want to sell the car, make the payoff, and use the balance to buy a new car. When I leased a car from GMAC (a Pontiac - don't ask), I returned it with some minor stone chips and a few dents - but all was considered standard wear and tear - the payoff was $3000+ above what the car was worth. My wife's Jetta, OTOH, I leased from VCI (VW Credit) and wound up having over $2500 in equity in (trade cash!) - both were 4 year leases. I've heard the same that you have about Chase horror stories... In my experience, leased cars are turned in way too often when the owner actually has equity in it - it's like flushing money away...
HTH,
Wes
