Lease turn-in and Windshield condition question

OK,
So there's been good input from folks on what to expect during a lease end inspection, but I haven't noticed any mention about windshields. I have a small chip or two that definitely happeded during 'normal use' but has anyone been charged for this as 'excessive'? If so, was it Chase or Saab?
Mine is definitely not cracked, and I don't live in a state where insurance covers repairs with no deductible. I might try one of those repair kits just to keep it from spreading, but haven't decided yet. Any experience?
