Warranty Dilema Dead Ignition pack

After 2 1/2 trouble free years with my 2000 Viggen it all ended in tears last night. Driving home from work it died at a set of traffic lights. Ignition light came on engine dead. Tried to restart , starter motor turned over great but no spark. Then that really nasty smell of melting electrical circuits wafted my way. UUUUGGGHHH!!!. Called the auto club who towed me home.
The dilema is that the car is somewhat modified. ECU, Full 3" exhaust, VRK, lowered suspension, Dump Valve, Intercoller etc. etc. So whilst this part is covered under 3 year warranty Saab would have a somewhat valid excuse to charge me for the replacement. Even though the guy at the auto club said this does happen quite often on Saab's.
Worse still is the car was going to Abbott in the UK next week for the High flowed head, Intake Pipe & the LSD. Now this is looking a little tricky.
The Auto club deal in the UK from Saab is very good, 3 years free including hire car whilst mine is off the road and free recovery etc. But unfortunately they won't take it to Abbott as they are too far away.
Just spoken to Abbott who have recommended a friendly Saab Dealer who are fixing it this morning as a warranty item despite the modifications. Lucky escape. Phew.
