In my 2000 9-3, I ran the wire for my radar detector (remote mount with the antenna in the grill) through the firewall with the existing big bundle of wires in the farthest upper corner of the passenger side under the dash. If you open the hood, this bundle will be sitting right on top on the passenger side. From the inside, remove the glove box (a bunch of Torx screws holding it in), and look way up under the dash.
I cut a slit in the rubber boot from the hood side, then slid a coat hanger inside, taped the wire to the hanger and pulled it back through. If you do this, BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL TO AVOID POKING THE AIRBAG IN THE DASH ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. (Push the hanger down, not straight in.)
By the way, I love the MB Quart speakers. I had four of them (two 5.25" and two 6.5") in my last car, an Acura Integra. I've got Infinity Kappas in the 9-3, which are excellent, but the Quarts were better. When I set up my Saab, Quart apparently did not offer 6x9s, so I went with Infinity. Now, Quart even has 3.5", so you could replace the junk Saab dash speakers, too.
