I've been considering a Nordic stage 2 or 3 kit for a few months for my 2001 9-3 S. Recently I've been looking at a kit through BSR also.

I have a concern about going with a kit (from any source) that doesn't allow you to return to the original ECU settings by replacing the ECU with the stock unit. I realize there will be a core charge to keep the original, but I'm willing to pay for that. I have this concern for warranty issues.

Concerning the Nordic kits, I'm skeptical that they can get 235 hp out of a 185 hp T-7 2.0 L 9-3 engine on the stage 3 kit. The 220 HP for the stage 2 sounds more obtainable.

I'd also like to drive a car that has the kit installed before spending $2000 or $3000 on a kit to make sure I know what I am getting before I spend that kind of money. With BSR the price of the chip and intake @ about $1000 makes it less of a risk, and I can do the full exhaust and air intake tube at a later date. However, I have been concerned that the rep I have been dealing with in the US for these parts has been very slow to respond to questions and takes weeks to return messages. That concerns me when I have been told that I have to send my ECU to Sweeden to be read and I won't be able to drive the car while the ECU is overseas (ie I may never get it back).

Any input on these modifications would be appreciated. It looks like the Stage 3 Nordic kit will make the car a little bit quicker than a stock Viggen (if the numbers they claim are accurate).

Also, is there a US distributor for Hirsch? I've heard that Hirsch is a little bit on the expensive side. Also any constructive input on Maptun would be appreciated.

Thanks!
