...but if you're worried about getting sand/water/sunblock/aloe etc. on your nice leather Saab seats, I have the following suggestion.

The week after I bought my 9-3SE, I took it for a month long trip up the California coast. Naturally days at the beach and camping were a staple of this trip, and I didn't want the nice new interior of my Saab getting trashed. A simple, and very effective solution was to put a fitted twin sheet over each of the front seats. It kept the sand/water/sunblock etc. off the seats, but was easily removable when I wanted to restore the look of the car going somewhere other than the beach. I used another sheet over the back seat, and lined the bottom of the hatch area with a thin tarp, since that's where all the gear (including cooler, food, snorkeling fins, etc.) went.

Anyhow, the car looked good as new when I got back from the trip. I still keep the fitted sheets handy in the car in case there's a really heavy rainstorm and I arrive at the car wet, or I just finish working out... other situations where I don't want the nice leather seats to be compromised. The sheets work a lot better than a towel or whatever because they fit with the elastic over the top/bottom of the seat so they won't fall off when you get into the seat or otherwise move around while driving. Also the sheet doesn't snugly cover the side of the seats, so the integrity of the airbags should be preserved. The only issue is aesthetics, and since it's so easily put on/off, the issue rarely comes up. You can even slip the sheet off the top part of the seat whilst you're cruising...no one outside the car will know, but you'll still keep the sand from going out of your swim trunks and into the leather.

Cheers,

'Roo
