9-3 to M3

24 hours after changing my beloved 9-3 to the 'enemy' I thought I'd write a few lines to summarize my first impressions.
The most apparent thing is that you really just can't compare the cars in terms of performance or price - they're in two completely different leagues. The abilities of the M3 are just incredible and the SMG box is a pure joy for me to play with, but refined enough for my wife to take the kids to school (if she can get me out of it long enough!). That said, it's a price you pay for and the Saabs that I've owned in the past have also given me huge driving pleasure.
The Saab that I've just changed in was a Monte Carlo yellow convertible, while the M3 is black. Even with large front spoiler and a couple of M3 badges, I feel so much less inconspicuous driving down the road.
Inconspicuous or not, the seats in the Saab feel a lot more supportive. The wind buffeting feels greater in the M3 at lower speeds but less at higher speeds (!?). Don't talk to me about fuel consumption!
Loved my Saabs and after 24 hours, I think I'm going to love the M3 ..... just haven't found a BMW site as good as this one yet!
Enjoy!
