I've never thought the 9-3 interior was that wonderful in terms of build quality, but it's hands down more purposeful and durable than that of the WRX. While my car has it's share of irritating squeaks, I could almost guarantee that the Subaru would be worse off. I would consider this in the decision making process. The Subaru has a just downright cheap interior.

I think "stability control" is totally overrated. It is one of those technologies brought to market which instills a false sense of security. I bet the small footprint of the WRX would make a for a good winter drive, but the 9-3 has a lot more "pop" and fun factor, even though the WRX looks a bit sportier. It takes so much more to get the WRX going, and so much more to get that fun, seat-of-the-pants grin that I get instantly with my Saab.

Something else I noticed was that the WRX intercooler mounts directly on top of the motor (!), which has to be rotten in terms of efficiency. I understand it's size and placement is derived from Subaru rally experience, but after seeing the engine bay of the WRX, I really felt like Saab had engineered a more efficient engine, and better engine to work on.
