I went to a Saab dealer to look at the new 9-3 today. The interior is similar to the 9-5. I agree with you the interior is much better than the old 9-3's. Both the plastics and leather used in the car seem to be different from the old 9-3. I also think the plastic used for the handbrake and the surrounding area is not bad. Of course the cloth armest in't quiet match the leather surface.
Some people/ewviews said the stereo controls are confusing but I like them. It gives people the "hi-tech" and expensive feel. I am MUCH MORE WILLING to pay $30K for this car.
There are 2 things I don't really like but I am still ok with them:
1. The "GM" marks were printed on the brake areas (you can see them through the wheel). I think I will either scratch them off or painted them over.
2. This is an existing Saab thing. The front (mainly the Saab symbol) is a little bit more liked one of the Crysler cars.
